Evidence for Faith

What used to stand in my way was the belief that I needed to prove God scientifically. That is, using a method that could be reproduced using a controlled procedure.

It seems on reflection what stands in the way of most people, is looking at the hypocrisy of those that say they are Christians or theists. The latter doesn't bother me because it seems such an easy matter for me to separate the target from the projectile. I know there are a LOT of bad arrows in this quiver.

I was never able to prove God using science; and still can't do it. There are some evidences that are there, but they are not conclusive. What was easier to see was the evidences (historical, not scientific) that Christ existed in history, and that several dozen people that saw him die, also come back from the dead. These people were 'so' impacted by what they saw that their lives took on a whole new direction. Those that had previously been cowards were now ready to die for what they had seen.

Although there are debatable contradiction to this story, they are nothing more than debatable. However the evidence 'for' is heavier than the evidence against. You still can't base your 'faith' on these evidences. It's only a door. God is alive, and if you are willing to accept the possibility then God can do the rest. God grants faith to those he chooses. I can't give another man faith, and no one can.
