The Promise That Changed Me

Well, I got on a bit of a tangent with my last entry so I thought I would go in the direction that I originally intended for this entry. Where I was originally going to go was that there are many reasons to be a Christian however many of these reasons are contrary to the teachings of Christianity.

If you will look throughout the scripture you will see the promises of Jesus; most of which are in the books known as the gospels. Gospel is a word that simply means "Good News". And the "Good News" was simply that Jesus Christ would take away the sins of the world.

If you have truly accepted the good news of Jesus Christ you will see that your life has completely changed. 'Not' that you are now a "good person" because the Lord's promise does not make "good people". The Lord's promise brings about a complete life change where you are no longer living your life for yourself, but instead for God. It's the difference between waking up and saying to yourself "Hmm I'm hungry, I wonder what I want to eat this morning." and "Hmm, I wonder if the Lord wants me to eat this morning.". Someone might argue, "... of course the Lord wants you to eat...", but that is simply not true; there are times that the Lord wants you to fast!
