Here and Now

I really would like to exagerate here in order to get the attention of the reader. I'd really like to say something like "It's sickening the way that people need to have plans before they do anything"; but I won't. I won't exagerate, I won't stretch the truth, I won't feign shock when it's not really the truth. "And he was amazed at their lack of faith", that's a scripture that crosses my mind. I'll have to look up the context of that one later.

All I can say is people just don't get it. And it's even more so with "church people". There the ones that supposedly read the scriptures, pray, have a "relationship with God", and understand that God is alive, real, and doesn't need an instruction manual in order to follow.

But ask them to do something without a plan. Ask them to walk out in faith just because God said to do something. Then you've lost them. Then you find out there faith is on only in what they can see feel touch and taste. Here is where I'm getting even more specific and talking about the "church" leadership. I have another thought regarding the latter however. Since when did Jesus need Articles of Incorporation or the permission of local government in order to do the will of God. The two have historically been at odds with each other.

It is the government that should submit to the will of God, not the other way around. And if government won't submit to the will of God then followers of Christ should be willing to lay down their lives by the thousands (without fighting) in demonstration of the hope they have that isn't in this world. Just is alive folks! He's not powerless on this day to save you from an eternity without it. And a nice quiet life where your children are well cared for is not the point of the life that Jesus laid down for you. The here and now isn't the point.
